So what is Cancer Connect- Fleurieu and how can we help you?
The Vision: CC-F was created to provide patients with clinical expertise and supportive care based best practice guidelines,, optimal care pathways, extensive supportive care knowledge and therapeutic supports for patients and their carers located on the Fleurieu Peninsula. With over 13 years experience working in Cancer Care, Belinda is accredited as a Facilitator of the Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course, training and assessing specialist Registered Nurses about cancer, treatments and supports.  She also has experience in emergency nursing, anaesthetic and recovery nursing as well as student and nurse facilitation and ​​Cancer Connect - Fleurieu is dedicated to providing unwavering support and valuable information to cancer patients and caregivers in the southern Fleurieu Peninsula region of South Australia.  Our service is designed to offer comprehensive resources, including local and state-based support services, relevant research findings, and pathways to optimal care. We strive to facilitate connections with local healthcare providers, ensuring individuals have access to the best care possible. With over 19 years of nursing experience and 13 of those in Cancer Nursing our Founder Belinda, has spent many years furthering her education after recognising a missing need in cancer care supports for our community. After caring for her parents during their cancer journeys in metropolitan and rural SA, then following her sisters cancer journey solely as a metropolitan patient, Belinda could see the disparity of services between metropolitan Adelaide and rural SA.
The Education and experience: ​ Bachelor or Nursing Degree with scholarship for international nursing placement in Borneo (University of South Australia) Foundations of Student and Nurse Facilitation (TAFE SA) Extensively trained in cancer and supportive care education​ over 13 years (SA Health) Graduate Certificate of Nursing Advanced Practice (James Cook University) Graduate Diploma Adv Prac (James Cook University) Master of Nursing Adv Prac (James Cook University) Education Scholarships from Australian College of Nursing, SFHS HAC and Moogoo skin Care. Facilitator of the Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course, training and assessing specialist Registered Nurses about cancer, treatments and supports. Facilitator and Assessor of Central Venous Access Device accreditation (Cancer Institute NSW) Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course Accredited (Cancer Institute NSW) Nurse Validator for the iQemo (SA Health) Myeloma Australia Link Nurse (Myeloma Australia) Currently completing post graduate Psychology (James Cook University) and a Master of Nursing Nurse Practitioner (Flinders University). Belinda's main roles in nursing have been as a Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse, Associate Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Consultant and Advanced Nurse Consultant.
